I would never say anything live is part of Jimmy's best work. IMHO, his best isnt even one of the play-till-your-fingers-bleed turn-it-up-to-eleven solos. It is in the studio for "Since i've been loving you".

I don't dispute it... I've played one. It sounds really nice. For the same $, I can buy SIX amps that also sound great. Forget the price tags and forget the nameplates. In the end you have to use your ears. There's lots of great gear to be had.

Using a compressor kills your pick dynamics, which is fine if you are a country player what you want is to normalize the volume of the strings you pick versus the strings you finger style. It also adds a lot of noise. There isn't a quiet compressor made.

I've never heard a strat sound so sterile and sanitized clean. Bump up the gain, and its just dark fuzz. There's better amps to be had for much less of my hard earned dollar.

@AlexisGuietteRecords not sure if that was a joke or not, but for the benefit of those that arent aware: besides being a superior microphone, the e609 can swing over your amp with just the chord and not have to worry about a mic stand as you do with the SM57. In studio, this is not a factor....
