the thing with red rum was that he was born to be a sprinter....... and so to have that speed,stamina and jumping ability made it so unfair to all other horses....he truly was a freaky horse and one that should always be remembered as the greatest national horse of all time and possibly the great...

very few horses in the history of the grand national would have won from where amberleigh came from......nothing short of miraculous...and no other horse deserved it more.....amberleigh now 19 is retired at the newmarket stud and if you are ever in the area hes well worth visiting ....such a love...
