Turns that heal - a great concept.

The film was interesting, but Louis XIV was an excellent dancer as a youth. He didn't just stand there posing and waving his arms. It's a shame to do a film called "The King Dances" with such a poor understanding and representation of 17th C dance.

This is pretty execrable. Cheap costumes, out of tune playing and some simplified, clumsily executed "Minuet for Dummies."

Pretty and theatrical, but this, of course, is pure Hollywood and bears little resemblance to actual dancing as done in the Renaissance.

The best reconstruction of a social minuet I've seen on YouTube. Bravo!

Sorry, but this is the clunkiest looking minuet I've ever seen. I would have kept it for my own enjoyment and not posted it on YouTube. The costumes range over 100 years and dancing a minuet on uneven grass is impossible. This gives people a totally wrong idea of what the idea looked like.

There is also an original 1919 recording of this on line on the Internet Archive. A lot less hoky and cocktail loungey.

Thanks for covering the Gayborhood, but IWISHUNU more. This really told us nothing about the area, what it is, and how it came to be.
