Mini Biography:
Melissa Biggs grew up in a small town in Oregon. Her mother was an artist and her father, an architect and builder, designed and built a custom log home for the family to live in. At age eleven Melissa studied drama and dance and worked as a model in Portland, starring in numerous TV commercials and print ads.

After the family left that rural existence they moved frequently, and Melissa attended fourteen schools before setting out for Hollywood at age eighteen.

A formally trained actress, Melissa studied with legendary acting teachers Larry Moss and the late Roy London (whose students included Leonardo di Caprio, Toby Maguire, Michelle Pfiffer, Tom Cruise and others) She also studied with character actor, Ernie Lively, father of Eric Lively and Blake Lively, who helped start and shape the careers of many of Hollywood's young working actors.

In addition to two seasons on the worldwide hit "Baywatch", Melissa has made cameo appearances in films such as "Lucky Town", acting alongside James Caan and Kirsten Dunst, "Rush Hour 2", "Sharkskin 6", and "Heart & Souls" with Robert Downey Jr., and has appeared on TV's "The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Collection" and "The Travel Channel's Secrets".

After forming her own acting and modeling agency, she assisted in the casting of "Die Hard 3", "Something to Talk About" and "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective", starring Jim Carrey.

At twenty-three, she teamed with ABC Kids ~n~ Teens to form a theatrical production company where she wrote, produced and directed shows for children of all ages.

In 1998 she relocated to Las Vegas, NV, to begin taping two seasons of "Roller Jam" on TNT and spent the next four years on-camera. When not acting, she worked as an assistant designer for a major furnishings design house, and it was there that she got her first taste and love for design.

In 2001 Melissa relocated to Santa Monica, CA to embark on a two-year modeling contract for a fitness-distribution company attached to Wal*Mart, and her photos were featured on more than a billion sporting goods packages worldwide.

As an entrepreneur, Melissa went on to develop several successful companies and, in the course of doing so, mentored under good friend and CEO of Guess? Inc., Paul Marciano.

In 2004 Melissa pitched a twenty million dollar consumer product line to Wal*Mart at their Buyer's Convention in Shanghai, China, and won an award for "Best Presentation", out of a hundred and fifty thousand other vendors, and most of the line was picked up.

In 2006 and eager to reinvent herself again, Melissa set out to design the perfect T-shirt and viola, P.G.D. Style was born. Before long, her timeless and classic pieces landed in 1000s of boutiques worldwide. After only a week in business, Melissa's label was noticed by Guess? Inc., whose buyers placed a hundred thousand dollar order, and Melissa began designing a private label collection for Guess? worldwide. And in 2008, Melissa was named "Best New Designer", for Vogue Tokyo, Japan.

The irony is that Melissa achieved all this with no formal training whatsoever, and after overcoming and battling a lifetime of chronic illness.

Then, three years ago, at the top of her game, she was driving down 3rd street in Santa Monica and got a call that would change her life forever. Melissa was given two years to live. She was diagnosed with a rare and deadly protein deficiency, Alpha-1 Deficiency (A1), which was the root of all her chronic illnesses.

A1 affects millions of people who don't know they have it. Fortunately for Melissa, she was misdiagnosed. She does indeed have A1, but she has a form that responds well to medication. Melissa now donates a portion of proceeds from P.G.D. to the cause. She was appointed as the Nat'l Spokesperson for A1 and embarked on a two-year tour in 2007.

Today Melissa is an actor, director, spokesperson, and entrepreneur. She is a board member for two non-profit organizations, and is extremely active in her community.

In the spring of 2010, Melissa launched her own production company, Sureel Films, Inc., and has a sports and lifestyle show in development.
