About Me:
I've ditched the gear and have just started using the IK Multimedia Amplitube version 1 with my Xeon system.
It's now the Guitar and a Focusrite Trackmaster - the rest is all on the Computer. So far I'm sort of reasonably pleased but find it a little noisy. All my guitar tracks usually get the hiss cleaned-up in Wavelab with "De-noiser" anyway , so what's new?
Huge move for me anyway as I loved my V65 valve amp.
Kind of weird to sit in front of a 32" monitor instead of a 5ft tall guitar-rack but still , you have to empty your cup before you can fill it -so to speak!
Well I guess that I won't be keeping this description for long , but as there wasn't one here I thought I'd better write something.
I was born in Islington, London and was abducted by cannibals at 6 months. They decided that I tasted awful and would be better use if I was trained to hunt for them. I killed and ate my first adult at the age of 4 and soon developed a skill for not only extreme violence and the dismemberment of my fellow humans , but also became very interested in the more culinary pursuits. By the age of 8 I had released my first book -"Cooking with People" -not a best seller by any means but one of my favorites. Around this time I realised that I'd actually eaten all of my captors as well and was free.
School wasn't really an option so I joined the Army. Due to my size it had to be the Ghurkas and I did have to black myself up a bit for that one. They were a nice bunch -bit soft really -they soon toughened up when they realised that they would possibly be on the menu. After many years and some successful campaigns I was becoming restless and thought I'd try just buying food in a shop for a change. After my first packet of "Wotsits" I never went back to that same old dreary life I had led -instead choosing something more exciting like working in the shop that sold me the "Wotsits".
I had heard Jimi Hendrix whilst in Vietnam in '68 and after working for 24years in the supermarket was finally able to buy a cheap guitar and begin to realise my new dream -which was to emulate my hero.
The rest is history.
