Caleb James Pecue was born on March 27th, 1991 in rural Illinois. He started playing the Clarinet in 2000, and started self-teaching himself Piano in 2002. Caleb started composing music on the piano when he was self-teaching himself the piano, because he was not able to read piano music, being that he learned the notes on Clarinet first. After plucking around for awhile he gained knowledge of where the middle C note was and it was all history from there. Caleb started composing with a small software called "Noteworthy Composer" which was free to download to anyone. He composed several very mediocre pieces that would never amount to much. Finally at the 2007-2008 Illinois All-State Choral event, Caleb was introduced to the world of "Finale" and knew that he couldn't afford the Finale 2007 edition being as it was around $500 to $600. He so happened to have around $70 dollars that he could afford to spend, although not willingly. So, after going back and forth from the booth Caleb glanced a cheaper version, a "dull-down" version, of Finale called Finale Print Music. He started writing more music than ever with that software. During the All-State Convention the Choral and Band students were able to view the "Young Composers Composition Contest" and that sparked some interest not only to Caleb but to his teachers/advisors as well. In 2009 Caleb started college at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, majoring in Secondary Education specializing in French. On January 2010, Caleb was recognized as the 2009-2010 Illinois All-State Piano Composition Contest 1st place recipient. In July 2010, Caleb brought out his first CD (Une Lumière qui Brille) which is available here on CDbaby.com. Shortly after having gain a slight glimpse of fame, Caleb will be entered into the SIU-Edwardsville "One-on-One" Music Composition Class under the direction of Dr. Kimberly Archer, starting August 2010, to further develop his composition skills.
