Notice the striking similarities with the chromatic piano notes of Bb to B to G @ 1:28 and also 1:32. and BH notes in "Radar...

Elements of "Planets of the Apes" orchestral seeps in at times. Jerry Goldsmith was a true master of his craft. The modern day Igor Stravinsky of film. Love how he incorporates jazz vibes with orchestral colors. I saw this movie in 1977 with my wife (we got married that year).

I saw this movie in 1968 (I was 16 years old) and was so impressed. I had a crush on the character Nova. I thought that she was the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Probably the best opening theme song ever composed!!! JG was a true legend and genius! Stravinsky paved the way for JG and today, many film composers owe their craft to him. Marco Beltrami for one comes to mind.

I just don't get it. People take a simple drum beat that's been played one trillion times, throw it some claps, bells, little choir, loop it a million times and say...."Look at my ORIGINAL BEAT". Pure shit! Oh, but I remember my pops telling me that, "SHIT SELLS" and basically, "PEOPLE ARE STUPID".

Not bad, but a bit too fast for me. Also, you should try using controllers to slow down and speed up music in areas (this puts'humanism' in the music). Otherwise, great job, especially if you transcribed all this by ear. Very impressive!!!

Wow, AMAZING!!!!! I've been only exposed to his "serial type modern avant-garde" music. This composition demonstrates the genius of this man. I heard elements of John Coltrane's "A love Supreme" theme (maybe that's where JC got his inspiration)? Anyway, this was like Harris and Copland. SUPERB!!!

Another master Hans Zimmer and John Williams ripped off. Don't get it twisted, I love HZ and JW...I'm just saying.

Great stuff! However, let us not forget where JW "borrowed" many of his lines from: Prokofiev, Holtz, Mussorgsky and Stravinsky.

I was born in 1952 and the 70's was my favorite decade for dance music. 1977 produced so many hits. I was 25 when this song came out and it was, and is, still great!!! The crap today can't even come close!

This song had it all: great beat, soaring strings, great vocals, a touch of woodwinds, french horns, good lyrics, chord changes (which are sadly missing from today's songs). Nothing compares today! They were able to mix classical with the funk. My favorite era!

Songs today can't touch this! Notice the 'jazz' chords and the way the pianist is 'comping'. Also, the flutes and strings swaying in the background. Man, I always go back to this era (the 70's). Real music, real instruments, no auto tune........and the last chord....pure jazz!

These 'brothers' knew how to lay it down. I'm from this decade and man, nothing's better than this! Look like spaceship outfits...killer cool:)

Great song, great chord changes (unlike today's bullshit chords), great horns, great funk! I loved this song along with most of the music from the 70's. And THOSE ALBUM COVERS.....WOW!!!

The Bar-Kays had the funk 'locked' down. The horns were 'Nasty'. Good stuff!!!
