Therefore, the three principles: Ikkyo, Nikkyo, Sankyo are:

- expansion-connection

- contraction-absortion

- spiral-transformation

They are universal principles, but we know them in aikido as techniques, which are the lowest level of thier physical show trought our body, with more or less grace, adaptability or conciousness.

We can think that aikido is selfdefense, but selfdefense is only one application of it. The three principles of aikido can be applicated in human relations, therapy (medicine, psichology... ), sports, arts, etc.

This, can not be understand if it is not practicated with an opened mind.
