What can my enemies do to me? My Paradise is in my heart; it goes with me wherever I am. If they kill me, it is martyrdom. If they exile me from my land, it is a vacation in the Path of Allah. If they imprison me, it is to allow me a private devotion with Allah -Ibn Taymiyyah

Ibn Taymiyyah said- The heart will not find complete happiness except by loving Allah and by striving towards what is dear to Him. It is not possible to achieve this love except by rejecting all things that compete with it. This is what the words 'there is no God but Allah' means; this is the spirit of the deen of Ibra...him and of that of every prophet. {Majmu' al-Fatawa, vol 28, p.32 }

Yûnus ibn 'Ubayd said: "With good manners you understand the knowledge. With the knowledge your actions are corrected. With actions wisdom is obtained. With wisdom you understand zuhd (abstinence) and are granted its benefits. With zuhd comes abandoning the world. With abandoning the world comes desire for the hereafter. With desire for the hereafter the pleasure of Allâh - the Mighty and Majestic - is obtained."

It is narrated that 'Uthmân b. Áffân -- Allâh be pleased with him -- said in a sermon:
Son of Adam! Know that the angel of death who has been assigned to you has not ceased to pass you and move on to others, ever since you have been in this world. But it is as if he is about to pass someone else and move on to target you, so be careful and prepare for him (by correcting your deeds).And do not forget him, for he does not forget you. And know o son of Adam, if you are heedless about yourself and do not prepare, no one else will prepare for you. You must meet Allah the Mighty and Majestic, so take for yourself and do not leave it to someone else. Peace be on you.
Abû Bakr Al-Daynûrî, Al-Mujâlasah wa Jawâhir Al-Ílm 2: 73, 74.

"O you, who believe! Fear Allah (swt) as HE (swt) should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam. And hold fast all of you together to the rope of Allah (swt) and be not divided amongst yourselves." (Ali-Imran 3:101-102)

And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah. Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly.(2:281)

"And if Allah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can keep back His favour; He brings it to whom He pleases of His servants; And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful" [Quran, Surah Yunus; 10:107]
