The original version of this was by Albert Hammond himself, though Phil's version followed soon after, before the Hollies hit; i could never hear the similarity in Creep by Radiohead other than the 'middle 8' of that song

is it just me, or is this song a bit 'Small Faces'? it has shades of 'How's your Bert's lumbago' in it.

The melody of this song was first sung in 1973 in English by Albert... 'Woman of the world' on the album The Free Electric Band;

didn't know that they used the same backing track for Terry.. i know that they borrowed Kirsty's 'Baby' (i.e. that high note, not literally) in 'They don't know'

this song gave me goosebumps when i first heard it aged 12 in 1978 and 33 years later i've still got them! Romeo and Feel like calling home are wonderful songs too x

@johnjarvo I think the Free Electric Band came later, but around 1968/69 while still living in London Albert Hammond wrote It never rains in Southern California, also a song that he recorded in 1974 called The girl they call the cool breeze (has 1968 on the copyright)

i met someone in 1998 from Gibraltar who told me about this Albert and Richard reunion...

i waited over 12 years to see it! it's great. lovely harmonies; worth the wait!

@mears89 hi you're wrong.. there are 4 versions of this song !! ... the 1972 original and this 1975 one with the stronger backing and better ending... and Spanish versions of both of these... with different Spanish lyrics on each
