I have a passion for dogs and dog training. I've volunteered with a golden retriever rescue for the last five years. I also write under the penname Sadie Hart. (Author account here: http://www.youtube.com/user/sadiehartauthor)

Toby is a seven year old, Boxer/Labrador Retriever mix rescued from the local Humane Society here. He opened my eyes to the dog world and taught me more than I could ever imagine. He's the one that started me down the path to figuring out 'new' ways to train my dog, when the current methods used around here didn't work for him. He's constantly been my partner and my teacher. He's my trick partner and cuddle bugs. Though we have no interest in competing, he doesn't enjoy the stress of working in distractions and I see no reason to push him into something he doesn't enjoy.

Macy is a one year old, Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix (she may be others too, no clue!). I got her from the Golden Retriever Rescue Resource when she was eight weeks old and she's been my sidekick ever since. She is game for anything, any time, day or night. She needs a job, she has energy to burn, she loves to talk, and where Toby opened my eyes to dog training, Macy loves to work anywhere she can - no matter how distracting the environment. Right now, we're playing with the idea of training for obedience and rally - though we're flying solo, because I've yet to find a trainer who uses positive methods in our area.
