About Me:

Wrote a novel while getting my doctorate in clinical psychology. Been writing novels ever since. Fifteen published by Doubleday, St. Martin's Press, Lit. Guild, so on. Last couple under pseudonym Steven Harriman. I'm a big guy (six-four, 260 lb)who still dreams he's playing eight-man flag football in college, then realizes he's too old to be playing the line without shoulderpads or helmet (or with them) and he'd better get off the field fast. At that point, I usually wake up, thank God. Got a couple of real cute new kittens and a wife who looks as young as when I married her. I like to paint and play piano. I'm still thirty inside my head, but the bones know.

Nice to meet you, Virginia. Glad you enjoyed the video. I did it to try and master some of the editing techniques in the on-board video-editing package on my Mac OS. Some of the dialogue is choppy, missing some extraneous phrases and the flow isn't the best, nor is the lighting, but it was fun. I had to get that off my chest. I've always felt a mixture of chagrin and idiotic masculine pride at that scar. If I had it to do over again, I would NOT shoot that rifle! I think I'm too persuasible, but then, my wife's cousin is a very persuasive guy. I agree with you about "couldn't care less" vs "could care less"--the latter is surely a meaningless thing to say.

Hi, Steve! I enjoyed your story--and particularly appreciate your English usage in the phrase "couldn't care less."
People's saying "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less" is a pet peeve of mine. There are a lot of things I care *deeply* about--so of course it would be possible to care less than I do! The *meaning* people are after is identical to the way you used the phrase: they don't care at all, so there's no way possible for them to care less than they do.
So, thanks--I do relish language well-used. :)
I also likes the spritz of lightning. Nice addition!

[And btw, I think I'm GingerInk here...but Bud just sent me this link, and introduced me to you as Virginia Davidson. Nice to meet you! :)]

Welcome Iamnad! You are to be congratulated for never collecting a Magnum eyebrow, doubly so, since you are a Texan. Here's hoping you never do pick one up. And thanks for he encouragement. I hope to make a new vlog soon. Meanwhile, please visit my website at http://web.me.com/stevenspruill. There, you will find a large number of blogs, nearly all of them on various aspects of writing, from characterization to plotting, to outlining and so on. And I'll get busy on that Vlog.

Hey, Supernole 100! Thanks for asking. Just got a haircut, so maybe I can get one going in the next week if Christmas preparations don't overwhelm. Gonna do a new blog post on Writing soon, too. http://web.me.com/stevenspruill Best of the season to you.

Hey Pat!!! When are you gonna do a video again????
anistop1 (1 year ago)
Thanks a lot for the update that your courses will be free. Online videos help a lot in writing advice because it gives personal touch and the sound is easy to remember, at least for me, than text.

A good and fair question, Drinkofthecloud, deserving an honest answer. Two things, really. 1) response to the first two vids has been quite low. It takes some work to do a vlog, less so a blog, which leads me to 2). I decided to set up my own website at http://www.stevenspruill.com. There, I have done regular blogs every week or two on writing and gotten some response to those. All in all, I've had a couple thousand hits on the websitein the past few months, not great, but far above what's happening on YouTube. I should not have named this account Patwolfie, I can see that now, but it's impossible to change the name of your Youtube account. You can only open another, and reconstructing all this seems too large a project for the moment. Still, I've had a couple of requests, lately, for another vlog here on YouTube. While it's harder to make a vlog, it's also fun, so I hope to do another, soon. A lot depends on how much activity I see on both sites.
