Patty Phillips, owner and founder of Pattys Pizza, is a leading innovator in gourmet pizzas and daring entrepreneur, who opened her first pizzeria in 1988 in Beverly Hills. Soon thereafter, her restaurant gained success and fans due to the exceptional quality and consistency in all of her products. She became famous for her Take-and-Bake pizzas, and expanded the menu from pizzas made with hand-stretched crusts to salads, calzones, wraps and signature sandinis. These products have made Pattys Pizza the recipient of numerous culinary awards and honors.

Growing up, Pattys parents made her a firm believer that hard work and dedication would take her anywhere she wanted. As a teen, Patty packed her bags and traveled the world. Upon returning home she tried a lot of different careers before discovering the concept of take and bake pizzas. Her entrepreneurial spirit moved her to take a risk by investing her life savings and opening her own business in the middle of a steeping recession. Secretly, Patty was hoping to be an overnight success so she could become a professional polo player but once she got her feet wet, there was no turning back.

Patty has continuously pursued opportunities to expand her business and products to match consumers changing tastes and ever busy lifestyles. As a working mother, she struggled to find quick, healthful meals for her family and decided to do something about it. In 2009, as her wholesale gourmet line grew, Patty launched Lil Devs, a retail line of healthy kids whole-wheat pizzas at an affordable price. In 2010, Patty introduced a retail line under the Pattys Pizza name of frozen, Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. Both Lil Devs and Pattys deep-dish pizzas are now available in local supermarkets including Southern California Bristol Farms and Gelsons, and Northern California Whole Foods Markets. Pattys Pizza wholesale line distributes pizzas to hotels and resorts around the U.S. including Disneyland, Ritz-Carlton, Marriott and Hilton hotels. In 2008, she began distributing a nitrate-free 8 pepperoni pizza in Trader Joes stores throughout California. This year, Patty relocated her retail store in Santa Monica to online-only service focusing on a web-based home and office delivery service in the Los Angeles area. Called Pattys on the Run the online service introduces new, innovative flavors including pistachio flatbread and a buffalo chicken pizza.

Pattys business, which has brought joy to her life, has also encouraged her to share it by giving back to the community that supported her. Service has always been an intrinsic part of her business philosophy. She is the past president of the West Side Chapter of the California Restaurant Association and currently sits on the State Board. Pattys Pizza has been actively involved with Mending Kids, The Society of St. Vincent De Paul, The Painted Turtle and The Boys & Girls Club. Moreover, she is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and Multicultural Foodservice and Hospitality Alliance.
