Patrick Delcroix was educated at the Centre de Danse Rosella Hightower, Cannes, France and the Ecole de Danse Colette Soriano, Orthez, France.

He was a dancer with Nederlands Dans Theater 1 for 17 years (director Jiří Kylián) working with many celebrated figures from the dance world including Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Edouard Lock, Nacho Duato, Hans van Manen, Johan Inger and Nils Christie. Before that, he was employed by the Scapino Ballet (director Armando Navarro) in Amsterdam, and Iwanson Dance Company (director Jessica Iwanson) in Munich.
In 2004 & 2005 he was a guest artist with Nederlands Dans Theater 3 for Birthday (Jiří Kylián).

He has re-staged ballets for Jiri Kylian on such companies as the Paris Opera Ballet, Boston Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Bern Ballet, Prague Ballet, Centro Coreografico Valencia, Kobe Ballet Japan, Ballet du Rhin and the Georgian National Ballet.

In 2001, he was knighted by the French government for services to the arts, being made Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Creations for the season '09/'10 include the Croatian National Theater, two premieres for the new Tanz Luzerner Theater Switzerland and the Iwanson Schule Munich as well as revivals by the Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo, Cisne Negro de Sao Paolo, Aalto Ballet Theater Essen and the Junior Ballet Geneva.
