However it is not a trainer, and it is not something I would recommend pilots fly if their intentions are to be commercial pilots. Because of its instrumentation it makes pilots lazy and complacent which can get you in a lot of trouble if you are flying anything other than a Cirrus.
I have seen a guy who bought his own Cirrus, flew it for 500 hours and had no idea what pilotage, dead reckoning or triangulation was, and that is SCARY. You would be a much better pilot if you had the same amount of hours in a C-150.
So if you plan on having your own Cirrus, and just flying for fun, then go for it and train in it.
If you plan on going commercial with your pilots license, whether just an instructor or an airline pilot, then DO NOT WASTE A CENT on a Cirrus.
