This site is dedicated to all struggling self-taught guitarists like me. It's a daily battle between persevering and giving up. I choose the former. Growing up in the Phils. in the 80s/90s with no access to decent instruction and sheet music, I was stuck with an obscure Noad book called "Solo Guitar Playing" and a copy of a copy of Segovia's 20 Studies....courtesy of Recto Ave. Thank God for the internet, access to sheet music and music itself is no longer a barrier.
I use my ever-faithful Antonio Loriente "Angela" guitar to record my music.
I've also discovered the beauty of Philippine-borne music. Arrangements of kundiman songs by Filipino guitarists are far and few in between. My renditions are not the best, but I hope this encourages others, who are a million times better players than I will ever be, to step up and keep the music alive for the current and future generations of pinoys.
