About this user
Moore is a Certified Family Life Educator focusing on parent coaching. In 2000, Moore formed a non-profit resource for parents, Healthy Families International. The organization focuses on parent education through conferences and books, counseling, and resources for families. She also provides family coaching.
Moore recently authored a book, Parenting the Heart of Your Child Teaching Your Kids to Make Good Decisions Even When No One is Looking (Bethany House). The book focuses on developing good decision making skills in children by encouraging their moral development. Her approach includes simple illustrated discussions to have with teenagers about responsibility, obedience, freedom, self-control, happiness, and purpose. The book is available in English and Spanish. She is a popular speaker to parents in various forums and directly to students in public and private middle schools, high schools, and colleges.
After several years of interacting with families through Healthy Families International, Moore realized the need for a different forum where parents could talk share concerns, ideas and their personal parenting tribulations and triumphs.
Parent Talk NW was formed in 2007. Moore is currently working on development of Parent Talk with Diane Moore, an open forum talk show for parents to share, as well as receive practical advice and counsel from Moore.
Moore lives in Vancouver with her husband of 27 years and is the mother of three grown children and enjoys her new role as a grandmother. She has a B.S. degree in Psychology (Family Studies) from Corbin College in Salem, Oregon. She is certified by the National Council on Family Relations, the only international program to certify family life educators.
