Hi there! Yes, there is only one per package. The idea is that you use it on the breast opposite the one you are nursing on, so you only need to have one. You would use Milkies *while* nursing, so it could also be used at work, if you were nursing your baby there. It is much more discrete than a pump might be.
As to how much milk you might collect, this will vary considerably from one mother to the next and depend entirely on the strength of your letdown. It is not a pump substitution.
The pads average about $10 each which is quite a bit less than most fitted diapers and substantially less than our best-selling pocket diapers (bumGenius & FuzziBunz). If you're goal is to save as much money as possible, however, or you have a very tight budget, our recommendation is our Bummis prefold packages.
