This video just seems more authentic than the other one. I think the composition and the intermittent blacking out, and direction of the light made up for the bits that weren't fine tuned. Nice job on recreating a 1970s UFO report!!

A few tips for you. Don't add so much electrical tape interference, the effect you've used is not consistent with the film of that time. desaturate all the mid tones, and tone the footage down to a more "matt" finish. Add a lot more "pixel noise" as was so prominent in 1960s/1970s build lenses...
