Albert always makes me smile, Duke plays very nicely on this as well. I heard Debbie in NY years ago she's a very good player also but overshadowed here I'm afraid.

Sing along everyone 'I've got Rhythm', then you can start to understand what is going on. Bebop by the masters here, Hall's solo IMHO sounds simple at times but the melodicism and timing are as sophisticated as it gets. There are never any guitar licks or cliched finger mechanics in his playing. ...

George is amazing, the most adventurous rendition I've heard of this classic. Very difficult melody to improvise around. His guitar solo is George at his best, tasty challenging and swinging.

A little known fact is that Albert King undisputedly one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time used a phase shifter as an integral part of his sound.

You sound like you must know Betty, I played guitar on the album with Larry Johnson and Cordell Dudley. I would love to know how Betty is doing I haven't seen her since those days. She was an awesome musician to work with.
Harry is one of the few guitarists that has real understanding of quarter tones and how to maximize their effectiveness with both precision and soulfulness. Albert King was the undisputed master, but Harry is a master in his own right.
