The NONDO label was formed in 1972 to reflect the work of (English) Midlands musicians operating in contemporary jazz, free form and entirely improvised music. Derek Bailey and John Stevens supported the project, allowing their performances to appear alongside lesser known players. 14 items were issued during its 10 year existence. However, the output began to increasingly reflect the work of its instigator David Panton - exploring improvised/composed elements within 'jazz' and 'classical' idioms - which were eventually published under the auspices of PANTON MUSIC (PM). The object of these video uploads is to make some of these recordings available to a wider audience than might otherwise be the case. Although some of the original discs and cassettes do surface from time to time, they are quite rare. Current intention is to make the library of archive recordings available as one-off customized CD-Rs, at reasonable cost, where there is interest in having them in a more tangible form.
