Think of Gods will as a legal document that was sealed with Jesus died. The will of God is in the law of Christ. Anyone who goes beyond this is a true heretic.

People suffer because people are stupid and willfully ignorant. People suffer at the hands of others who are ignorant. People suffer because the universe is an inferior cosmis accident. When one learns to love one still will not cease to suffer for there is no love without sacrifice and no sacrifice without love. One can stand complacent and suffering will seek him out. But for every ounce of pain there is some pleasure to be had as well. Humans are by nature, whether willfully or not, Masochists.

It isn't often I meet a fellow Gnostic Christian, nice to meet you. My beliefs are closest to Western Valentinian but what I like about Gnostics is the opportunity for beliefs to vary as I learn. People talk like God can only be a certain way and it really does a disservice to God. Thanks for helping me out with Johnthehutdweller or Jabbathehut or whatever his name is.

Whether Irenaeus made mistakes is besides the point. Paul does not believe in the same cosmology as Valentinus. Paul caries over the Jewish cosmology into his new faith in the new covenant of Christ, just as all mainstream Christians do.

Hey James,
I'm just curious about your specific Gnosticism and where it comes from. If you answered this already in a video, then I'm sorry for missing it, but anyways: do you belong to a certain Gnostic Church, like Ecclesia Gnostica, or do you follow the individualist path of reading Gnostic texts and putting it into practice?
