Armed with a saxophone, keyboard, and incredible vocals, Pamela K. Ward has a stage show that is nothing short of electrifying. Backed by five of Nashville's most talented musicians, Pamela is the newest house band artist for the World Famous Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville. They are an official band for the 2010-11 season of the NHL Nashville Predators, performing for multiple home games at Bridgestone Arena. Pamela was a featured performer on both Broadway and 2nd Avenue during the 2010 CMA Music Festival and her original song, "Farmer's Daughter" spent 13 weeks on the Clear Channel Top 20 Unsigned Artists Chart, where it peaked at #5.
Pamela has opened for Loretta Lynn and has performed at Gaylord Opryland Hotel and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. She played keyboard and sang background vocals on tour with Doug Stone in 2005 and has played with sax players from the bands of Aretha Franklin, Beyonce, James Brown and George Thorogood. She has recorded numerous sessions on Nashville's famed Music Row and could be heard playing alto, tenor and baritone sax on the theme song of Bass Pro Shop's "Big Cat Quest" on GAC.
Raised on a six generation family farm in central Arkansas, Pamela is very proud of her roots and lives by the quote, "You can't know where you're going unless you know where you've been." Her parents instilled in their children an appreciation for all genres of music. Pamela was encouraged to pursue everything from Ozark bluegrass to Memphis blues. At fourteen, Pamela became a performer at the Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View, Arkansas where she performed traditional Ozark Mountain music and became known as the "Lil' Yodeling Girl." At sixteen, the family took a two hour car ride every weekend to Beale St. in Memphis so Pamela could play sax on the street corners with the makers of the blues. These experiences made Pamela the versatile performer she is today.
Pamela's ultimate goal includes a career playing and writing country music with a southern rock flair, deep rooted in the blues with a live show that will rock the house. At 4'11" she is proof that big things come in little packages.
