Handel's Messiah "Comfort Ye" and "Every Valley Shall Be Exaulted"
Live Performance with Ensemble Chouerisma 2010, Montreal
Tenor Solo- Cody Growe
I had no idea there were so many scholars of Baroque music and Handel on YouTube. I might not know any more than the most vocal of the lot, but I find this a charming performance, although a little slow. I myself would have added more ornamentation, which would have appalled the score literalis...

Including Donizetti in this is really sexy, but that's just me.
A general comment about how everyone--both sides of the aisle--thinks the OTHER is interpreting scripture to his/her own advantage, when EVERY age has interpreted scripture through its own cultural lens.

Luciano Pavarotti, Idomeneo 1
Luciano Pavarotti at the opera Idomeneo by Mozart, Frederica Stade as Idamante. A beautiful performance at the Metropolitan Opera, 1982
Pavarotti almost always sounded glorious, but the role lies a little low for him. Pavarotti's real glory is his high voice. That's why you hear more dramatic tenors singing it (although John Mark Ainsley did an amazing job with the Munich production a few years ago).

Angela Meade and Anna Netrebko sing "Coppia iniqua" from Donizetti's Anna Bolena. Metropolitan Opera. 2011.
Sorry but there are a few bad glitches...
You really did record last night's performance with Angela Meade! I loved her performance. I was ready to kill the conductor for that final cadence!

Beverly Sills Perfect Queen of the Night "Der Hölle Rache" 1966

1973 Die Fledermaus - Act 1 - Sung in English

I'm a Dame Joan fan, of course, but I'm also a big, big fan of Judith Blegen. I saw JB sing Adele over 20 years later at the MET and she was perfectly charming and sang just as beautifully as in this recording.
