"a civilized man without a flint is less than a savage." Robinson Crusoe.
The 21st. Century is squashing me...
Survival is not the prime issue...
The prime issue is...escape.
When I was a kid I used to build dens. I used to crawl into bushes, and snuggle up under hedges, and sleep with the smell of dry leaves in my nostrils. At night I would gaze in wonder at the breathtaking star filled sky.
As a teenage boy I discovered the raw fun of long hungry summer camping sessions with my mates.
As a young man I hitch-hiked around Europe working on farms, building sites, whatever, in order to get a bit more money to carry on. With a sleeping bag rolled up in a piece of plastic, a bottle of water, a piece of bread, and a bit of cheese. Cooking in a crusty tin can. Sleeping in this or on that. In forests, bushes, beaches, old cars, Railway stations, shop doorways, peoples gardens, bus stops, benches, fields, parks, hills, valleys, and mountains. Ive called many small portion's of the earth mine just for a day or a night. knowing that in an unknown land; what was under me belonged to me, even if only for one night, it would probably remain mine to sleep upon until the morning. To be awoken by the pre-dawn chill and eagerly await the first rays of the sun to warm me up and thaw me out ready to start the adventure of another new day.
Now a married man with children, living in an increasingly precarious world I see a great need to prepare for what is to come. But where to go, what to buy, what's needed, what's not ? What's available, what does what, and how well does it do it ?...There's also...who's out there ?..and does anyone else care ? (especially in the Twilight Zone called the UK).
After doing a lot of information trawling, study, and cross referencing, I decided to put this channel together.
I've Favorited a lot of videos I consider helpful, especially to a beginner like myself... Whilst my own videos share who we are, and what we are about, and our progress in what we are learning.
Self reliance is not my objective.
We cannot be completely 'self reliant' as our next breath and heartbeat is from The Almighty. We are in our selves a gift from YHVH and we are given this wondrous creation to be in.
I seek His Kingdom, His righteous dominion and ruler-ship over Heaven and Earth.
We must seek to live as honorably as we can as inheritors and heirs to that Kingdom.
We must accept His ownership and authorship of: ourselves, His creation, and our function in it.
We must seek to be faithful stewards of His Path, and CARE takers of each other and His creation.
I thank the creator for the wonder of His creation and His furnishing me with the apparatus required to behold that wonder...
The blue of the created sky,
seen through the created eye,
fills this created I
with joy.
I give thanks to YHVH...

OF THE WONDER GENERATOR.

Your series on the fire (non) extinguisher has been interesting to watch.
I would in fact welcome comments and messages for this video that is so very special to me.
Thanks. Mick.
