3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants(literal translation: "will have") all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

It was Jerome who mistranslated and misinterpreted important age-related Hebrew and Greek words when translating them from original Manuscripts into the Latin Vulgate. He did this to support the doctrine of hell, which was a pagan belief that had already been embraced and established in the Roman Catholic Church by the time Jerome came to write the Latin Vulgate. The Latin Vulgate, as translated by Jerome circa 400 A.D., had such an overpowering dominance for over a thousand years that many subsequent versions of the Bible, especially the King James Version (KJV), simply carried forward the translation and interpretation errors to varying degrees in support of the doctrine of hell.
