For the record, Thomas Erskine was a SCOTTISH composer. Indeed, he was the sixth Earl of Kellie. Born in Fife, he was known locally as 'Fiddler Tam'.

I enjoyed this performance very much. Fischer's interpretation is a convincing one which belies the seeming mundaneness of the music in notation. In addition, the pianist's sensitive accompaniment is a real asset.
