On February 15, 2012, the House of Commons passed the Ending the Long Gun Registry Act and sent it to the Senate in a 159-130 vote. Northern Ontario NDP MPs Bruce and John Rafferty werre the only 2 NDP MPs to stand up against the NDP's big union executives' marching orders and joined our Government in voting to abolish the wasteful and ineffective long-gun registry once and for all.
The Conservative Government received a strong mandate to end the wasteful and ineffective long-gun registry once and for all, and that is exactly what we are doing.
Tonight's vote marks a leap forward towards fulfilling our promise to scrap the wasteful and ineffective long-gun registry. We are delighted to be closer than ever to doing away with a $2 billion boondoggle that criminalizes law-abiding Canadians.
Unsurprisingly, the NDP and the Liberals once again reminded Canadians that they will never miss an opportunity to criminalize law-abiding farmers and duck hunters.

As the story goes, the Japanese were contemplating a ground offensive on America during WWII but were dissuaded when they came to learn that virtually all American households had guns.
Of course, for Americans and the rest of us in the civilized, democratic west, thereal reason to have a lot of guns isn't to defend against an external invader, but rather to defend and overthrow our own government when necessary. And the way things are going, it'll probably be only a few more decades until Americans have lost virtually all their freedoms to fascist so-called security laws.
It is inevitable for any government to always want more control. And our wonderful egalitarian politicians never go into an election promising less intrusion and fewer laws. In fact, we wont let em. We love being nannied and told what we can and cannot do with our own property and our own lives.
Someday, however, the cumulative effect of law after law after law bearing down on our shoulders will be so oppressive that Americans just might have to rise up and take ther freedom back from government.
And that's where the guns come in.
