When i filmed this footage i had no idea that anyone other than myself would ever see it. In this video Jake is a little over four years old. We had been intervening in his autism for about six months and he was a totally different kid than when we first began. when he is telling me what song he wants to hear he is saying 'sheoohohh' and is refering to sigur ros sevfn-g-englar and the 'chorus' of that song which you can hear at the end of the video when he lays down in front of a speaker.
The first time he heard that sigur ros song his reaction was so bizarre that i couldnt believe what i was seeing. He ran into the computer room with eyes wide open and hands on ears...he kept looking at me and the speakers and me again. I've never seen him have a reaction like that to a song before or since. but at the time i had never seen him react to ANYTHING. Hearing this song for the first time was the very first time i saw Jake have a reaction to anything. I couldnt believe what i was seeing. Footage was shot in may of 2004. notice the two other songs he liked speak about not being perfect! (message to me maybe).
