In Vancouver, Canada!! Awesome place. OLD RED was born in Dublin, and lived in Ireland most of his life. Sounding like a deep southern USA veteran of the music scene, with a Dylan meets Neil Young vibe, Red turned heads. Heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, Neil young, Leonard Cohen, Creedence and many more Red is a wordsmith, a lover of lyrics. Playing guitar, drums, harmonica, piano and singing with his lyrical ability, OLD RED is a tour de force. "Everything is a potential song to me", Red would say and so has been all his life. Having supported giants like Counting Crows at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC and playing the Oxygen festival, Ireland 2009, OLD RED is fast becoming a household name. Red has played the Dublin music scene for countless years, from open mics to Oxygen, hes done it all! In November 07, he landed on the shores of Brooklyn, NYC, and began to woo the American audience with his quick wit, clever lyrics and self made style. An almost instant love affair followed, within 3 months of landing, Red lifted the roof off The Bowery Ballroom to hundreds of awestruck Counting Crows fans. The wheels were in spin, there was no looking back for OLD RED, The world was ready for the next Bob Dylan, or as red would so eloquently put it "Im not the next Bob Dylan? Im the first OLD RED" bearing a cheeky grin and confident pout . . So saddle up people, for this bluegrassy, folk-rockin storyteller who has played on every continent on this earth. Having received rave reviews for his debut album - Shots in the Dark, OLD RED is sure to touch your heart with his deep, clever and sometimes hilarious lyrics. Recording a second, rumored acoustic, album, this artist just goes from strength to strength.
