My name is Fran Smith from Dublin, Ireland. I have been hairdressing, colouring and barbering for over 25 years. During that time, I've always dedicated my time to training young people coming into the business. Through these experiences, I have identified many simple and very easy techniques to opening the secrets and real pleasures to the art of fantastic hairdressing. Hairdressing is not just an art, its a love affair... and if taught well will make the experience so much more enjoyable.

I started hairdressing in the late seventies, working part time every Saturday in a small gents hairdressing salon in South King Street, Dublin. The salon specilised in gents fashion cuts. I worked there for 3 years and took classes every Wednesday evening after school. I started working full time at 16 as a qualified gents hairstylist but I only lasted 6 weeks. I decided I wanted and needed to learn more. I applied to my local PETER MARK hair salon where I met a young Liam Kennedy ( managing director of over 80 Peter Mark hair salons).After six months, I passed my final exams in the Peter Mark school of hairdressing and I was invited to stay and get involved with teaching refresher hair cutting courses to senior stylists within the company. Here I was, aged 17 standing on a stage with 15 senior stylist listening to what I had to say!! It was on that day that I decided that I wanted to teach hair dressing.

I have been teaching ever since and through new advances in technology, I look forward to sharing all my fantastic experiences with you.
