@commandershadebetter Let's ignore the sci-fi aspects, because face it spider-man is science fiction, and delve into psychology. If someone you knew and grew up with suddenly started acting different distanced themselves from you, without you knowing why, wouldn't you start to feel betrayed?

@ninjaboy56 If memory serves me right the manga and anime are different, Eureka 7 is one of those rare animes where the manga was made after the anime so the authors of the manga make it different while keeping the main plot line.
