the 'sulphur' odour is more likely to be either some kind of benzene, volatile organic compounds or pcb - i would strongly advise staying away from this area...i would definitely advise not taking dogs anywhere near this...it is most likely highly toxic!!!

@cagabolsa a prop plane losing power would still make a noise as the air forced over the blades would rotate them and cause the mechanics of the piston engine to move in an unatural way
