Vladimír Ondrejčák began classical guitar playing at the age of eleven as a pupil of Elementary music school of Ján Cikker in Banská Bystrica. Four years later he appeared successfully at the national guitar competition Bojnice 1997, where he won second price. At the Conservatory in Banská Bystrica he was a student of Mária Sedláková. He graduated University of music and performing arts in the guitar class of Jozef Zsapka and his assistant Martin Krajčo. During his studies he participated in master classes led by renowned guitarists (Suzana Prieto, Odair Assad, Anders Miolin, Alvaro Pierri, Walter Feybli, Stefan Hackl, Marco Socias, Luciano Contini), and performed in various competitions. He won honorary mention (for fourth price) in the competition of young guitarists in Dolný Kubín (2001) and two third prices at the International Guitar Competition J.K.Mertz (2006, 2008). As a soloist and chamber player he appeared on domestic stages (Hudba pod diamantovou klenbou 2004, Banskobystrická hudobná jar 2004, Kytarový festival - Štramberk 2007, Melos-Étos 2007, Orfeus 2007, Rimavskosobotská hudobná jar 2010, festival Konfrontácie Nitra 2010, Hummelove dni 2010, Festival J. K. Mertza 2010, Pohoda festival 2010), but also in several European countries (Hungary, England, Austria, Czech republic, Italy). In 2010 he gave his first lecture - "Early Italian Renaissance and its way of interpreting on the modern guitar" in the methodology day in Prievidza. He also made his first recordings for Slovak television. As a chamber player he is a member of Bratislava Guitar Quartet. Since 2005 he has appeared in a duo with Denisa Benčová. They perform concerts in Slovakia and abroad (concert in Slovak radio -- live recording of the concert was broadcasted on the radio Devin). In 2009 he, together with Zuzana Zamborská, introduced Slovak premiere of works for guitar and piano of J.K.Mertz. The concert gained positive criticism in Musical Life (slovak musical magazine). In that same year he founded Mertz Guitar Duo with guitarist Karol Kompas.Together they played on number of stages, Slovak festival Confrontations Nitra and Trenčín's Pohoda festival at the Trenčín's airport.
