Good lord, the oboe solo from 1:33 to 1:50 annoys the hell out of me. That one note Borodin keeps altering...it just sounds so wrong!
That is, unless I've somehow found two videos where the oboist makes the same mistake? Highly doubtful.

As much as I really like how expressive her natural movement is, as a clarinet player myself I can't imagine how shaking her head or throwing the instrument left and right doesn't affect her playing. Doesn't it change her embouchure?

I totally agree, clar39. It's a good recording until it gets to the brass feature towards the end...I have my own lamentations as a woodwind about standing during brass features, but meh, it's not important. Anyway, YES, they lose it in that section.

I think something's getting lost in translation here. In musical terms, a "dark" sound is typically one that is smooth, controlled, "velvety" in texture, masterful, and not shrill or piercing. It's different from the typical perception of "dark" as murky or evil in some way.

For those upset by the tempo, it seems to me to be less than 180bpm (in cut time), so please don't exaggerate. It does sound fast, and is certainly over tempo for a British march, but it's certainly not 200 or 300+ that some have suggested.

@Keira13 Oboe too, but they're usually too quiet to hear under a clarinet and trumpet...we tried using just the oboe solo at this section during one of our rehearsals this weekend, and it was just not loud enough.
