Great video. I loved all of it - especially the answer to the line "Are you feeling all right?" when the plucky fellow said "Never better". It looked so authentic. Was it filmed on location?
This sort of thing makes me proud to be British.

It's very rare that Bing doesn't sound great. However, this nightmare song
deserves some kind of award for achieving that. I suppose the 60's drove
several great talents to temporary insanity trying to outdo the Beatles etc.

I think the mike should have CBS on it not NBC. Bill Paley, head of CBS, scooped Bing's first radio outing for CBS - much to the fury of NBC, who considered itself cock of the walk. According to Bing's biographer, Gary Giddins, this broadast caused quite a sensation.

Yes, look up the song and type Top of the Pops after it on YouTube. It's a bit strange seeing Bing in 1975 surrounded by rather puzzled but very well-behaved teenage girls.
At 1:30 I love Mr. O'Reilly's pronunciation of "carte blanche". He calls it "carte blarnk" - perhaps an Irish phrase - certainly unknown in any other language.
