i returned to alabama about 14 years ago to assist my father in caring for my mother, who has a neuropathy that claimed her mobility and most of the use of her hands. we have a small farm and i was quite fortunate that the house where i live was being sold b/c it adjoins the northern end of our initial property. i have been a newspaper editor, i have a jd and quite recently received an aa in comp info whacha. i joined the army national guard immediately following hs graduation, was quite pleased to stop participating in that. i try to be as active as my limited resources allow in political matters and i am an avid democrat, almost a post-hippy. it stunned everyone who knows me when i enlisted in tha air national guard 4 yrs ago because anyone within earshot knows that i detest war and the inveterate costs in lives, resources, delayed progress. my job is installing/creating networks/subnets/computers. i have been in iraq and my rationalization is that i do the best i can to help our kids get home and maybe one day they will enjoy the usa i grew up in.
my service is in honor of my younger brother, killed in a training mission several years ago. we were only a bit less than a year apart. i think of him and miss him every day and i always will.
i have a jd and am preparing for my bar exam which may explain the odd hours i post and the frequent drifts in the sea of confusion.
i have three horses, palamino, buckskin and appaloosa (red/white). i love being here and i draw from the beauty a bit of serenity. i have abt 200 acres and raise beef cattle and grow/harvest my own hay.
i believe that within every human is a spark of the divine essence from which we have separated. most religions are about the path to take us back to that. i love elaine pagels, who has kindly brought the gnostic teachings and ideals into common fare that i can comprehend.
i am currently single, again. i have a 1966 ford galaxie 500 convertible, two dogs -- boris and natasha and one cat. the cat came from the fokker family of recent film and he is one of the meanest drag queens i've ever seen. i call him martha fokker.

i love my horses and am trying to upload pics. probably attributable to influences when i was growing up, i try to actively participate in political activism -- left of center. i love to visit friends and to escape alabama regularly. essential to mental health, though i think it's a bit late for me. i love to put on my leather fringe coat, brown cowboy hat, put back the top on my 66 galaxie 500, fire up a stogie and meander along. i am quite selective in the soundtrack, though, and it is usually limited to johnny cash, but i do like kidrocks cowboy and a few others pass my selective approval.
