I have to tell you. As a norwegian I'm really jelaous of your american politics. At least whatever side you are on you guys are fighting out fundamental issues on what your country should be like it. Being in a small country, there is a lot of consensus politics here and it gets quite boring.

What's more funny is all the american right wingers who love Daniel Hannan failing to ignore his solution of QE for the periphery.

Every president has to live with the consequences. Special forces were killed in 1979 in Iran during a hostage crises. Didnt go well. A president can alter the course of history depending on his use of the military power of USA.

Of course Germany benefits from a weak currency compared to its economic output. German export products become cheaper and much more competitive in the market. A weak currency boosts German exports, which is why they want to keep southern europe inside the currency union.

Libya has been a massive success. They are now soon going to hold free election and have a democracy they havent seen in 40+plus years. In addition the West averted a massacre at Benghazi of thousands of people and saved them from a despotic dictator.
