"Theirs is the Glory" is a 1946 British film about the "Battle of Arnhem", the British element of the World War II "Operation Market Garden". It was the first film to be made about this battle. The later film "A Bridge Too Far" depicts the operation as a whole but still focuses on Arnhem a great deal.
The film was directed by Brian Desmond Hurst and featured original footage from the battle as well as re-enactments, shot on location at Arnhem itself. Many of the actors portraying the paratroopers were actual soldiers who fought in the battle.
The film is remarkable in that it employed surviving German armor from the war; very few if any productions can make that claim.
Notable examples: "Two Panthers Type D" an operable "Tiger Ⅰ", and the wreck of a" Tiger Ⅱ" remaining in place from the actual battle.
