I was fortunate enough to be part of The Rosies Day Women Build in October 2010.
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program that encourages women to make a difference by building homes and communities. Women Build programs provide an environment in which women can feel comfortable learning construction skills they might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn. Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo County and Lowe's in Paso Robles are teaming up with CK Builders Inc. to produce and promote Women Build for San Luis Obispo County.

Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo County is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian ministry that seeks to eliminate generational poverty in our county and to make substandard housing and homelessness socially, politically, and morally unacceptable.

People ask me, "why would I want to leave LA?" One of the reasons, you will see above. Sitting on the 405 as we know is somewhat of an expected thing one endures here. But what got to me, was that to the eye, it looked like fog in some places. Except at 6pm on a dry and hot day above 75 degrees, it's something else.
I thought I was recording as I approached The Getty Center, and it looked like something out of a horror movie. Everything was so ugly. It's a shame. This video is untreated by the way.

Orlando Delbert, Founder and Creative Director for Delbert Entertainment, LLC today announced, the delivery of New Island Pictures Company Identity.
I was asked by Founder and CEO of NEW ISLAND PICTURES, DAVID GORDON, to design a Company Identity for his production company, said Orlando Delbert. He had a very specific vision, which entailed some larger than life scenery. I was up for the challenge!
As the initial brain-storming session began, I thought about shadow puppets my parents and I made as a child for their theatre productions in New York. I thought it might be a cool concept to put his vision inside of a frame, much like it would be watching a shadow puppet show. As things progressed, the idea of creating an animated post card, with a painted feel began to emerge. Using Adobe After Effects and Photoshop, I was able to design a unique Company Identity that will look good on the big screen.
New Island Pictures is currently in Post Production with the film, The Changing Room. The film is directed by David Gordon, and written by Mark V. Bedard. The film stars Adina Porter of HBOs True Blood, and Helen Gordon. New Island Pictures is also in production of the series, Back In The Biz, due for release in 2010.
