Tim van de Laar is born on 8 november 1979 in Veghel (The Netherlands). When he was 2 years old his uncle said already that Tim would be a musician and he was right. Tim started to play piano at the age of 6. Having multiple teachers he worked very hard to become a all round keyboardist. Playing at least 3 hours a day, he rapidly developed himself in pop, funk and jazz music styles.
At the age of 12 Tim started to write his own songs. Mainly pop and house music and discovered his love for funk music. Playing rhythmic patterns became his main specialism and made him into a widely known band keyboardist. In the studio he dedicated himself on imitating all kinds of instruments on his synthesizers. Wanting to come as close to reality as possible. He said many times that he loved people saying: `Who is that guitar player in this song?`. Then he started to laugh knowing it was himself playing a synthesizer.
He closed the gap between playing an instrument and making compositions. There is no longer a difference between them. His instinctive way of playing and composing songs are one and the same movement of free creative expression. This must be the fastest way to write a song without losing the musicality that a musician gives to a music piece.
In 2004 he got his bachelor degree at the High School of Arts, music production and composition with honors. After that he works fulltime as a freelance composer/keyboardist. Writing songs for commercials, documentaries, TV leaders, composing songs for artists and plays keys in bands..
