For many years I have been driven by just the way one song can immediately take you back to any era...and moment in time of your life...and you actually relive that moment for a brief matter of seconds.
Sometime you can even smell the flowers,or the freshly cut grass you used to mow listening to your "sony walkman" as "I"ll wait" from Van Halen blasted through those old bass-less headphones you had to replace every week.
I started playing music at a very early age...
I remember being in school and church plays in the choir..
Someone of importance noticed my natural sense of timing and my ear for music..Then there was school band,I played Tenor Sax.
I felt and maybe wrongly so,I did not need an education,I needed music...
Now its what I am,Its all I know.....Without it I feel useless.
So I will do this until the day I die,the only thing Im actually good at...Music..I am Eric Martin Smith and this is my motto
"Music is entwined within the very soul of humanity"
This I wrote..This I believe..we all have the natural talent for music...
This has become my passion and my heart...
If i can change one life by what I do,then I can die feeling accomplished.

Moved to Indiana in 1973

Was in numerous choirs and theater classes...
Played Tenor sax in school bands for 4 years
Started playing guitar at age 15 ...started singing and playing bass at age 18.
Formed first band "Antiquity" in 1987 with Danny Albright,Kaden Dulla ,and Matt Minnick
Joined Solar Angels with Kaden Dulla and Shannon Wooten in 1990
Sang for 4U with John E Gee(Bassist for John Mellencamp) Lyle and Kasey(last names slipped my mind...sorry guys) in 1993.
Took about a 5 year hiatus from music for various reason I never truly had my heart in or felt was right.
After years of feeling something was missing I got back into music again,and I will never ever put it down again.
Played for Grant Gilman in the summer of 2009 and I am currently doing my acoustic show at various places around the state for now and I am playing bass exclusively for band Piss Off ...you have to see this band live.
My influences are to many to mention however I can name a few of the most important ones that have made my musical dna what it is today.
