@oddsteven I think Nashville tuning actually is about the only way to make that sound good on an acoustic. . . I really don't care much for 12 string unless it's electrified, because I think the high strings interfere and make it too busy. It always ends up sounding thin to me acoustically.

Jerry Reed-Big Daddy
Here's a terrific Jerry Reed "album cut". This is a good example of the musical gems only the hard core Reed fans have heard. Enjoy!

@fridrikur Almost certainly not Terry McMillan - this was recorded about 1971, and Terry wasn't with Jerry until after 1975.

That is not Merle Travis playing rhythm guitar in the background. Not sure who, but not Merle as this guy is using a straight pick.
There are several more of these color clips of Chet from the same time period. They were all done on color film in the mid to late fifties with different folks wh...

This is one of the greatest things he ever recorded. I love listening to it build into a jazz tune and then break down into country/bluegrass at the very end with the dobro. Awesome stuff from one of the greats.

Les Paul Trio - Dark Eyes
The LP Trio - Les' finest jazz moment. Please note Sammy Wolfe as comedy relief - he was part of the alternate set of Ted Healy's 3 Stooges!

He is singing the words "Ochi chornye" Russian/Ukrainian for "Black Eyes" - hence the title in English - Dark Eyes.
@Factnotfictionpeople Weldon Myrick played pedal steel on the whole album. Lloyd Green's great, but it's not him. All you have to do is look at the album credits on the back - if you have the album, which I do. :) I think the dobro is him too - it's a dobro with a palm pedal of some sort to al...
