Also, I would like to add Cassandra Wilson to the jazz singers I admire. Cassandra is eclectic as was a friend, Maria Muldaur. A great voice is not necessarily the criteria of a jazz singer. I dig Joe Pesci's singing as well. Since this is my channel, I take the liberty of expressing my opinion and if people want to post here, I don't allow it. This is not a democratic channel. I express my opinion and if you don't dig it, don't show up here. I don't need or want you here if you don't like real music.

Most singers have an straight up and down approach and some drummers don't comprehend phrasing except the same: vertical. No space allowed, no concept of the idea of laying back or anticipating. Some of the singers of which critics approve like the D. Kralls and others have no real voices but have copped everyone else's styles and passed them off as their own because the originator(s) have gone into eternity. Trying to be a copyist is the most common. I like Jackie Ryan because she is for real as an original singer. I like Laura Fygi because she is also not trying to sound like some other singer. They are also both beautiful women as well. The others have yet to prove their mettle and need to learn lyrics and how to tell the story. Sass and Carmen must be rolling over in their graves to hear all the imitators copping their licks.

Some bozo going by @noobasdfjkl on a Stan Getz/Coltrane video posting has his cojones in a twist because of some knowledge I imparted. He is obviously and immature male of the black race who thinks that his race imparts some special knowledge of jazz. Wake up, stupid, since jazz is a combo of many parts and races. Take your drugs and go to sleep.

Some bozo said potentially offensive. I guess good music is offensive to those who don't comprehend it. Kiss my grits.
