Today is the first I have heard of these phenomena. Does anyone have anything official from the scientific community regarding these events? I'm curious to hear what they have to say.

As a Christian who seeks objectivity, I really can appreciate Carl Sagan. Yes there is probably much ideologically where he and I would disagree. However I deeply respect his contributions to science. He really was one of the greatest minds in history.

@iamrusty13 Actually there aren't two "different" creation stories. Genesis was written in a series of "accounts". The "Account of Adam" (Gen 2:4) starts with a summary of what preceded it (a.k.a. The creation account of the origin of the world). Chapters 1 & 2 are not contradictory.
