Sarít (Sarah in Hebrew) grew up in Chicago with music always in her ear. She started teaching herself piano at age 10, but immediately after discovering her mom's 1976 ct classic acoustic Gibson in the depths of the coat closet she found her true love. Just the smell alone of the wood and the sound of the old strings rang in her heart. A guitar has never left her fingers since! Her mom played guitar in college and still plays piano. Her dad does not play any instruments, but has the greatest taste in music. She grew up knowing more about the Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, and Cat Stevens. Once learning to play several chords and writing some songs Sarít took every chance she could get to play in front of an audience. She steadily grew a decent local fan base, which over time has grown to a larger national and international fan base. Sarít also recorded a rough album in her dorm room on Mac's Garage Band program. The album was titled "Honest Passion (Acoustic Fun)" and was released on iTunes in 2006. It was her first release and a rough of what is to come. As soon as she received immediate positive response for Honest Passion (Acoustic Fun) she decided that she would continue to pursue a music career. She started with the name Soul because a good friend gave her that nickname since she played music, but too many artists had used the name in some shape or form; so she changed it to Sarít. It is her Hebrew name given to her when she was a baby, named after her dad's mother, and meant much more to her. Now at 27 Sarít plans to perform as much as she can! She is not signed to any label yet and hopes to in the near future. For now she continues to grow as an artist. "Life is a song, so belt it out!" -- Sarít
