as less and less people join unions, it creates less dues for the bosses, some of which make $500k/yr. No wonder they are up in arms. The bosses dont care about the average worker, they just want as many people in the machine as possible, generating more dues money for them and their friends.

Income is irrelevant. You have to factor in taxes and cost of living. In order to "increase wages" your employer has to raise prices on the services that they provide which effectively just destroyed the raise that your union got you.
