Topics include: Grooves, Breaks, Fills, how to play in a band, Timing, Independence, Coordination, understanding styles, Hand/Foot Technique, how to make drum charts, Rudiments, Soloing, Transcriptions, Sight reading, Drum tuning, how to listen and how to practice, playing w/ metronome, and much more.
Start with the basics: Christian Finger, Founder of NY Drumschool, will take you through the elements of hands/snare drum technique, while also building your ability to maneuver on the entire instrument with exercises to coordinate your feet and hands.
As you improve, he will craft a program that allows you to discover your own potential as a musician; his wealth of knowledge will guide you in mastering any style of music on the drums. By using great true and tested teaching materials (for example Books, Play along/ Music CDs, Transcriptions, Recording, Singing, Rhythmic Solfege...) you will learn to play in different musical settings. Lessons at two locations (Brooklyn/Park Slope & New Jersey/Bloomfield) in great studios with two professionally equipped drum sets.

Christian Finger is a professional award-winning drummer, holds two degrees (BA in Teaching & MA in Percussion), has studied in the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands, and writes for the "Modern Drummer" Magazine - the world's No.1 Drum Magazine.
