If you take the "Engineering Method" as it is applied to airplanes and then apply it to Nuclear Power, you get into difficulty with the risk calculations for catastrophic failure. You need certain numbers and degrees of certainty to put into the equations, but you can't determine the full magnitude of the downside of the risk for catastrophic failure because it grows through time. As time goes on, the degree of certainty decreases and the equation becomes meaningless. Also, the numerical risk has a very low degree of certainty because we have very few examples. So my question is: Where are the engineers with integrity?
