Great finish by Coghlan, you can see how much it meant to him after being 4th in the 1976 Olympics. Sadly, another fourth place ahead of him in 1980.

Kelly was some man, wasn't he? That descent is awesome, especially at 5:30 where he's pedalling down around those bends, out of the saddle, while Argentin freewheels them.

Brilliant commentary! You could quote whole chunks of it, especially the 'athletic Beatle' riff which is like a film script ("But this boy's got utter belief in himself"). The tone in his voice adds to the building excitement too.
BTW I like both Viren and Prefontaine :)
